The new client is not yet required to play the game, but the new client is expected to replace the MacOS client during a planned release in October. A: No, your current account credentials will be used to log into the game client.
Q: Are my characters still saved?
A: Yes, all of your characters on all game worlds remain unaffected.

Q: Can I uninstall the old MacOS client?
A: Yes.
Q: The installation is telling me that it can't be opened due to Apple not being able to search for a file. What do I do?

A: This is an issue we are currently working to resolve. For now, you can right-click on the file and choose 'open'. This will present a pop-up box with the previous warning, but with the additional options to 'Open' or 'Cancel'. You will need to do the same for the DDO.app file once it has been copied into your applications folder.
